Dirt therapy for the Garden Curious

Here to help you grow your own

About Homegrown Harvest

I started Homegrown Harvest as a way to spend more time doing what I love, and help others find joy in the garden. I believe strongly in the power of being outside with your hands in the dirt to clear your head and ground your senses. As a long time School Social Worker I have used gardening as a form of self care, a time for mindfulness, an escape from overwhelming circumstances and an opportunity to create something beautiful and important in connection with the earth. I have lived and grown food in Durango, CO for almost 15 years and truly enjoy using my experience and knowledge to help guide my community toward sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Kitchen Gardens

A Kitchen Garden is very simply, a garden where you grow things to use in your kitchen. It may be smaller than a traditional row garden or vegetable garden and is usually placed close to the house/kitchen for easy access. Kitchen gardens are easy to fit into a busy lifestyle as they are designed to be planted and cared for a little bit at a time, on a daily or weekly basis. They provide frequent and continuous harvests from a variety of plants, all growing together to support a healthy ecosystem, which helps you and your family thrive. The kitchen garden serves as a source of food, relaxation, and ongoing wonder and excitement.
