My Story
I started gardening when I was a kid, helping my mom with her many flower beds that would multiply every year. Her biggest project was a large Xeriscape garden filled with native Colorado plants. I remember having to randomly pull over on the way to/from wherever we were camping for the weekend so my mom could transplant whatever native specimen she had spotted from the car to fill in a special spot in her garden.
From filling the small “champagne porch” of our condo with potted vegetables to renting a plot in the Waterfall Community Garden north of Durango and everything in between, I have found a way to grow food in whatever space I have had available over my 15 years in Durango. I want to help others do the same for themselves.
